My work explores the science, poetics and sculptural potential of handmade paper. These investigations approach drawing in their immediacy: casting parts of my body by weaving strips of abaca or draping, suspending and folding pliable wet sheets of paper to form singular, weightless volumes. Other projects, including handmade books, take on the very process of papermaking itself - the transformation of a mundane substance into something unexpected and extraordinary.
With my practice, I will continue to research and expand the boundaries of handmade paper through public workshops, book-works, drawing and sculpture.
