Claire Seringhaus is a freelance artist, writer and editor currently based in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Claire's art reflects her belief in the importance of imagination, storytelling and approaching life, pain and memory with one's sense of humour firmly intact. Her work is inspired by, among other things, absurdist humour, vintage children's book illustrations and the simple, static beauty of late 19th- and early 20th-century portrait photography and catalogue illustrations.
