Artist Statement:

Nova Cantabrigiensis is an artist book published in June 2011 in London by Island Editions. The editor, Lizzie Alice Robinson and the designer, Dylan Spencer-Davidson have portrayed 30 outsider architectural sketches of the artist in a sensitive manner. The wish was to bring to a wider audience the idea of a utopian city to be built in the Minas Basin, Hants County, Nova Scotia. These sketches were chosen out of a set of 366 entitled 'The Book of Leap Year'. The idea of transferring Oxbridge architectural ideals to Canada may be flawed. Nevertheless, the letter-size drawings that remain are a testimony of the usefulness of art therapy, and the book can stand on its own as a beautiful object.
